National Championship WorldSkills Kazakhstan -2017

On May 2-5, 2017, the National Championship WorldSkills Kazakhstan -2017 was held in Astana. WorldSkills International (WSI) is an international non-profit movement dedicated to raising the profile of vocational education and training standards around the world. Currently, WSI includes 76 countries, covering more than 70% of the world's population.

The WSK National Championship 2017 was held in 17 competencies. The championship participants had to complete two modules, demonstrating the level of developed practical knowledge, professional skills (photo 1). In the “Bricklaying” competency, our region was represented by Roman Shishkin, a graduate of the construction department of the Petropavlovsk Construction and Economics College (photo 2). Industrial training master Kotyrtauov A.E., acting as a mentor to R. Shishkin, adequately prepared the championship participant (photo 3, 4).
Based on the results of professional competitions, Roman Shishkin became the winner of the National Championship WorldSkills Kazakhstan -2017 in the “Bricklaying” competency (photo 5). This victory allowed Roman to enter the Kazakhstan national team to participate in the international championship “WorldSkills Competition 2017”, which will be held on October 14-19, 2017. in the United Arab Emirates, the city of Abu Dhabi.
