"Let's read the classics"

As part of the implementation of the "College eager to read" concept, on February 2, 2023, an event was held in the world literature hall of the regional library named after S. Mukanov for the 112th group of students of the "Accounting and Auditing" specialty. This event was called "Let's read the classics", where the class leader of the group D. Myrzabayeva and the college librarian G. Gadelshina talked about the benefits of reading and discussed with the students the importance and value of reading the works of the classics of world literature today. It was noted that reading not only expands a person's mind, enriches his spiritual world, but also increases his vocabulary, develops logical thinking, imagination and creativity. In addition, students talked about the works they read and shared their impressions.

In the second part of the event, a tour of regional library departments was organized for students. Head of the World Literature Hall L. Ovcharenko introduced the electronic resources department, subscription department, educational departments, art literature department, MakerSpace department, Coworking center. Students not only looked at magazines and books, they were also interested in encyclopedia publications, reference books and electronic library facilities. In the department of culture and art literature, students got acquainted with exhibitions of books on music and visual arts.

The only intellectual technology for mastering the knowledge accumulated by mankind is reading, its foundations are laid in the family, library, and educational institutions. The main tasks of improving the quality of education among students are education of learning culture, education of interest in learning (primarily classics), development of learning and information culture. This provides solutions to the main life problems of young people: education, mastering of professional activities, self-education, formation of human worldview and moral foundations. Visiting the college library and city libraries is an increase in cultural and reading competence and the development of student activity.
