On May 23, 2024, the regional stage of the WorldSkills-2024 championship on the "Culinary" competency was held at the Higher Construction and Economic College.
The purpose of holding the annual championship:
• increasing the status and standards of professional training and qualification, improving professional skills;
• glorification of worker's professions by conducting international competitions;
• Expansion of creative contacts and exchange of new ideas and achievements in the field of professional training
• Exchange of experience among SKO college students, identification of prospective areas of culinary arts development.
A competitive struggle was held for this competence, as students from 12 colleges of the city and region took part in the Championship. The evaluation commission was formed by independent experts from among social partners:
Chief expert - Sayran Shaisultanuly Hamza - chairman of the association of owners of restaurants and hotels of SKO;
Independent experts:
- Andrey Evgenyevich Frolov - Executive Director of the Association of Restaurant and Hotel Owners of SKO;
- Alena Vladimirovna Zhumaleeva - director of Solnyshko cafe;
- Mykola Aletsky - head chef of "Khutorok" cafe;
- Askhat Kisaev is the head chef of KK "Skif".
Participants completed 2 modules according to WSC standards:
- poultry main dish - "Poultry cutlet with sauce and 2 side dishes"
- Dessert is "Shu" cake with cracker
According to the results of the championship, the student of the Higher Construction and Economic College Sergey Golets took the 1st place.
