On September 12-15, 2016, the WorldSkills Kazakhstan National Championship was held in Astana - this is a competition of professional skills, the purpose of which is to POPULARIZE WORKING SKILLS and increase their prestige in society, attracting young enterprising people into working professions and specialties. The WSK National Championship was held in 17 competencies. Participants had to demonstrate the level of developed practical knowledge, professional skills and abilities. Petropavlovsk Construction and Economics College took part in two competencies “Restaurant business” (cook) and “Bricklaying”. The championship participants were college students, and our teachers - teachers of special disciplines and industrial training masters - acted as technical experts (photo 3). During the competition, participants had to complete three modules. College graduate Vyacheslav Zenikov took part in a professional chef competition (photo 1). In the “Bricklaying” competency, our region was represented by student 453 gr. construction department of PSEK Shishkin Roman, who, based on the results of competitive work, became a prize-winner of the WorldSkills Kazakhstan National Championship, taking second place (photo 2).
