On February 19, 2015, PSEK hosted the Regional Championship of Professional Excellence “WorldSkillsKazakhstan” among students and young specialists of North Kazakhstan region in the competency “Cooking”, the purpose of which is to popularize blue-collar professions, improve the status and standards of professional training and qualifications around the world. The championship program included the grand opening, the completion of competitive tasks and summing up the results. The competition was judged by the best chefs of the region: Yuri Aleksandrovich Dubinin - member of the Guild of Chefs of Russia and Kazakhstan, Evgeniy Aleksandrovich Lazukhin - chef of the Nomad restaurant,
Pidgorodetsky Stanislav Vasilievich - chef of the Moulin Rouge restaurant. Also present at the competition were honorary guests: Natalya Mikhailovna Gordeeva - methodologist of the Center for Methodological Work in the Service Sector and Evgeniy Vladimirovich Mamykin - representative of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the North Kazakhstan Region. Director of the college N.D. Ukhov. delivered a welcoming speech, congratulated and wished good luck to all participants. The competition was attended by students from the technological department of PSEK, students from the College of Service Spheres, as well as young specialists from the region. |
The competition program consisted of the following tasks: a hot dish of several varieties of fish, preparation of an original dessert. The difficulty of the competition was that the contestants had to prepare a dessert from products that were in the “black box”, that is, the contestants became familiar with the list of products directly during the preparation process.

For three hours, the contestants competed in culinary skills. Not only the quality of the dishes performed was assessed, but also the external aesthetics and presentation technique. The competitors creatively approached the tasks, the dishes amazed with their creativity and originality of names. For example, the winner’s dish was called “Fish Trio” or “Fish Mix”.

A competent and strict jury tasted the proposed dishes and rendered their verdict.

2nd place - Vyacheslav Zeynikov, 3rd year student of the technological department of PSEK.

The winner was Artem Ivanov, a young specialist, a 2014 graduate of the technological department of PSEK. Artem will represent our region at the Republican competition in Astana.

The winners of the competition were awarded certificates of honor and valuable gifts. The remaining participants were awarded certificates and consolation prizes. Members of the jury and guests of the competition congratulated the participants, wished them further success in their professional activities and expressed great gratitude to the administration of the Petropavlovsk Construction and Economic College for organizing the competition and the high level of technical equipment of the laboratory in which the practical part of the Regional Championship.
