Event "Chernobyl - the black pain of the planet"

On April 8, at the Petropavlovsk Construction and Economic College, a meeting of students with members of the organization "Chernobyl Union", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, took place. The chairman of the North-Kazakhstan regional public association "Union Chernobyl" Yu.V. Loshkarev and member of the organization B.E. Zavialov. Being participants who were directly involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, the veterans told the children about the terrible disaster, which is regarded as the largest of its kind in the entire history of nuclear energy, both in terms of the estimated number of people killed and affected by its consequences, and in terms of economic damage. Veterans of Chernobyl showed slides with photographs on the screen, as well as a fragment of a documentary film depicting the Chernobyl accident and the work of the liquidators. Video materials were provided from the archive of the Union of Chernobyl Veterans in Petropavlovsk.
The students listened with great attention to the story of the Chernobyl victims, asked numerous questions: what dose of radiation was considered acceptable for work in the reactor zone and in the 30-kilometer exclusion zone, what products that remove radioactive elements were present in the diet, what protective equipment was given to the liquidators, and what was their effectiveness. Also, the guys were interested in the awards that were awarded to the invited veterans.
Chernobyl residents expressed their gratitude to the college for the exhibition dedicated to the disaster and the organized meeting and stressed that new generations should know about the disaster, its man-made and human factors, and most importantly, be aware of the heroism of people who, by their civil and labor feat, did not allow the spread of infection to large areas.
